STATESBORO- Amara is a black and white Frenchie-Boston Terrier mix by Comm Arts’ close friend, Quin DeGarlais.
Coming from Oregon, Quin adopted Amara at 6 months old. Amara can be seen around Georgia Southern donning her signature harness and pink leash, finding attention from anyone who meets her eyes.
Amara is about 20 pounds of pure Frenchie Boston muscle and is extremely fond of people, not so much other dogs DeGarlais says.
“She loves attention wherever she can get it, she’ll just dead sprint to any people that pass by to get some pets,” DeGarlais says, “I swear you’d think I don’t give her enough love the way she’ll run to anyone for more loving”.
Amara helps Quin every day as an emotional support pet to take the stress out of nursing school and working in a hospital.
“I can be exhausted after a long day but I still need to take care of her, and she’s a big cuddler so that’s definitely good when I need to unwind.”
So if you ever catch Amara around on a campus walk, don’t be afraid to walk up, she’ll likely approach you for some pets and belly rubs.
