STATESBORO– Georgia Southern University’s Botanic Garden in Statesboro, Georgia has more than 11 acres of Dan and Catharine Bland’s homestead from the early 20th century. Visitors can discover the natural and cultural legacy of the southeast coastal plain in this garden.
The garden provides educational programs, conferences and events centered around gardening and sustainability. To promote community involvement, it regularly holds festivals and festivities. Admission is five dollars for an adult, and free for garden members, students and children.
The 2025 Botanic Garden at Georgia Southern University spring plant sale took place on Saturday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday, April 6, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Two special gardenias appeared at this year's sale: gold doubloon and fukurinkoba variegated. Purchases could be made with cash, check, or card, and all sales benefit the garden.
